DEATH-LIFE-DEATH: METAMORPHOSIS WITH THE MAYAN MASKS

A 3:13 artist movie filmed by Christine Chatelet in the Besançon studio on May 5th 2016. Jean-Pierre Sergent is trying on 8 Mayan masks El Tigre, El Diabolo etc… he collected during is numerous trips to Central America with his girlfriend's Olga, between 1995 and 2000.

Those great traditional Indians civilizations : Olmec, Aztec, Maya, Toltec, Mixtec, Zapotec, influenced the artist to start his "Mayan Diary" paintings series (1999-2010) and are still strongly influencing his work nowadays.
